Another GOM Disturbance

I can attest to the tropical airmass now over this region of Northeast Florida. I have measured nearly 3 inches of rain here at my home in just over 2 hours. Flash Flooding is occurring in the Jax metro area at this time, causing some major problems.

As for our system in the GOM, convection has expanded significantly this afternoon near the vortex up in Apalachee Bay. It is a good thing that shear had been inhibiting development of this area up to now or else we would have possibly had another TD at the very least.

Fairly strong bands coming out of this system, 40-45mph gusts over in Brevard at some of the weather stations there.

The pressure has been dropping at buoy 42036 the last couple of hours. The winds have also picked up.

I've seen several areas along that front that might have some low level circulation under them.
Even back South of LA there is leftover energy.
Anyone know if the trough to the north over land is going to lift out?
That trough is providing too much shear from the west for any persistent circulation at the surface to survive.

Some of that will probably lift up ahead of the next boundary. There should be a couple more lows and spin ups in this pattern, but I doubt anything gets to TD status before possibly the BoC potential next week.
