http://hadar.cira.colostate.edu/ramsdis ... lvis8.html shows the current image. Really a beautiful morning with a sunrise here in Maryland and a beautiful sunrise on satellite over hurricane Kate.
Also the loop http://hadar.cira.colostate.edu/ramsdis ... geflt.html shows a bit of last evening over Kate and the beginnings of a breathtaking morning on satellite over kate. Expect one more day of this type of beauty over the ocean. Thankfully this is no threat to the US and Bermuda. Both areas do not need tropical systems.
Watch out in New Founderland and Iceland though. Even though this will be extratropical at that time, still could be something of note.

Maybe...
However shear could be a limiting factor. On the other hand, water temps will be warm all the way up to new Founderland given the gulf stream. It's almost 80 degrees off the east coast of Canada. But it drops off quickly north and east of there.
This is something that new Founderland needs to watch.

The CHC has Kate barely east of St. John's on Tuesday morning. Is 972mb within the range of a cat 2 storm?
