After almost 3 years of "waiting", this TCR comes out. Due to the delay I think they didn't even need to publish anymore

There are still 2 TCRs to complete.
Akoni, also from 2019, and Ela from 2015.
Does anyone know why CPHC written hurricane TCRs take so long?
Is it for lack of more competent meteorologists?
Is it laziness?

Akoni and Ela were released by the NHC in a reasonable time as they originated east of 140 W. You can find them together with the other East Pacific storm reports. Others like Walaka and Ema were done solely by the CPHC and take them some time as they probably have less resources

I've heard they're quite understaffed but don't quote me on that though.

The CPHC shouldn't even exist, it should just be part of the NHC.
