Sad news to report from Puerto Rico

#1 Postby cycloneye » Thu Nov 13, 2003 8:18 pm

Until now after 5 days of this astronomical rain event where in average 12 inches haved fallen but with spots in southern PR of over 21+ inches no fatalities haved occured but tonight the police is reporting that 1 person died in Aibonito when a car tried to cross a flooded road but was swept by the rough currents so sadly I have to report that.

PR has had more than its share this week and more convection is blowing up right now -- hope it moves away soon.

I am sorry to hear that Luis. People just don't realize the force of flood waters until it's too late.
Very sad news.

HG in both cases these people tried to cross the currents despite the warnings from the police to not cross.

I am sad to hear that there have been 2 fatalities caused by the flooding. I hope there are no more deaths (or injuries) from this storm.
