How many named storms will form in May?
Poll season has begun and apart from the biggest one that is the 2025 S2K poll here is the first one about how many named storms will form om this month.

I feel like we could see a subtropical junk storm with the positive SSTAs in the central N. Atlantic and the -NAO models are showing.

I was initially leaning towards zero but this is actually sound reasoning given the SST profile is quite different from this time last year, and yeah, during -NAO you can't discount the possibility of a cutoff low making a (sub)tropical transition under those circumstances. So what the heck, I'll say we get one.

Voted zero, the majority of Mays do not have any (sub)tropical development in the Atlantic basin

I truly hate seeing any slop gale-center having sub 50mph winds (typically well removed from the center) get named. My brain says there'll be at least one of those.... but my heart keeps saying
