Hey Clovis, so have the Brazilian meteorologists admitted that it was a hurricane? I'm shocked at the amount of damage. Hurricane Claudette here in Texas didn't even do that much damage!

The satellite photos alone illustrate that Catarina was a hurricane.

Welcome back to Storm2K, Clóvis. I am glad to see you posting once again. :)

Perhaps more Brazilian's are considering it a hurricane after all, a terrible unfortunately "delayed reaction."

Clóvis,
Thanks for the Brazilian persective. This forum sure came to life when Catarina was aimed at southern Brazil. It's good to hear from a local to get "their" side of the story.

Clovis welcome to storm2k. Although most of the tropical cyclones we track are in the North Atlantic..Carribean Sea..or the Gulf of Mexico, we do track tropical cyclones around the world. But I never thought we would see one in the S Atlantic...let alone one this powerful
