I'm putting together some statistical regression analysis on the PDO (and other indicators) and it's (their) impact on North Atlantic hurricane frequency and probability for landfall...and I am in need of some readily available data.

I was able to track down the reanalysis dataset with named storms/peak intensity since the mid1800's, but I'm hoping that someone has some data laying around (in spreadsheet or text file form) that has total number of landfalling US hurricanes at landfall, aggregated by year, since 1900. Detailed data with landfall intensity would also be helpful.

I have scoured the net today to no avail...and I have almost resigned myself to going through maps year-by-year...but before I do that I was wondering if anyone has this stuff lying around.

Here's a preview...I have been able to show with statistical significance that negative PDO values in the key months of Sepeptember, October and November (on average) are a strong indicator for hurricane frequency in the north Atlantic. I'm not sure this is groundbreaking, and the PDO index could be contaminated with cool ENSO events which may be showing up in the analysis, but I haven't seem much info linking the PDO directly to frequency...only to tracks toward/away from the US.

Who knows if this analysis has already been conducted (it probably has)...but I will be happy to share what I find after I get through the data.
