I've posted a correction on the last update. The main correction was the PAGASA name from Cosme to Dindo.

Although not listed on through NRL or JTWC, we should keep our eyes peeled to the Bay of Bengal. Normally this time of year (a miniseason) is ripe for tropical development just before the southwest monsoon gets established.

That said all model data has been consistently picking up on a developing tropical within the next 84 hours. The current convection is the BB is just that, with no LLC or organization present. We shall see...

Senorpepr,

do you have any clue as to the naming of "Juba"?

According to the list of TC names disseminated from JTWC, linked at the bottom, the name should be Jubela. Any explanation?

https://metoc.npmoc.navy.mil/jtwc/menu/ ... _Names.htm

Take care,

FBo

You know, I was thinking the exact same thing. I'm not positive where the name Juba came from. All the guidance I had pointed towards Jubela. Hmmm.... if I come across anything, I'll pass it on.

The 14/00Z update has been posted...

The significant change to report is 04W has been upgraded to a tropical storm. We're waiting the the JMA to agree with this before the name Nida is used.
