Interesting EPAC Infrared Satellite This Early AM

#1 Postby weatherlover427 » Sun May 30, 2004 7:11 am

As we near the start of the Atlantic season on Tuesdaqy; I thought I would point out some interesting EPAC features this morning...

Btw: sorry for the junk MSPaint job, it's 5:10 am here and I am off to bed in a few.

Area 1: Large subtropical / tropical plume of moisture extending from south of Hawaii into the Southeastern U.S.

Area 2: 7-sided shape area that has a low cloud swirl in it plus the leftmost cluster of convection.

Area 3: The area of convection south of Mexico.

Area 4: Two small clusters of convection, one south of Central America and one near the coast of Honduras (?).

Thoughts anyone?

I think the cluster 2 and 3 look more likely to develop. Mostly because they look alot stronger than the others. They have good looking spins and good looking outflow plus their centers are covered by thunderstorms. If you look at #2 closely, you can see that there are some rain bands trying to develop. Looks like its starting to get spiral bands into it. The trough to the NW of the storm might just miss it, either that or just snag it and move it back to the NE.
