Not much now but 3 years ago TS Allison visited Houston
Hard to forget how much rain fell those few days around the city as Allison stalled. Vivd memories of all the flood waters pooling on 59, I-10 and I-45 inside the Loop. I think some lessons were learned in that storm. I wonder what would happen if such a storm were to visit us again now.
Have a great weekend!

I don't think I will ever forget Allison or her aftermath. Those indeed are vivid memories. As far as what might happen if we had that scenario weatherwise again, I imagine it would be just about the same except without the downtown tunnels and med center buildings flooding since there have been major upgrades in those areas since the flood. There haven't yet been major flood prevention projects in other areas since then. Unfortunately, the type of rains we had that caused the real problems, on the order of 6"/hr rates-35" in less than 24 hours, most of it in 12 hours, can not realistically be prepared for in any situation.
Fortunately I don't see that happening anytime soon around here or for that matter anywhere else.
