If you look closely at the sat pic at link above it is clear the line of the axis of the ITCZ as it goes from more north in latitud near West Africa to a dip near 40w and then lifts again west of that longitud.It is interesting to see it go down as far as 3n near 40w when it has been near 8-9n in recent weeks,Those are fluctuations up and down that the axis always has but it is interesting to see this kind of V shape axis.When the Cape Verde season kicks off you will see that ITCZ in a more north position more favorable for development as it goes away from the equator.
