and coming off the coast of Africa farther north now. Won't be long until we have a live one in the E. Atlantic -- meaning late July and August.

Give it time dixie as enviromental conditions will be much better later this summer and by then we will be tracking systems from that part of the world.

Nothing worth watching ATM...anything that exits the coast without sufficient banding and surface cyclonic flow doesn't stand a chance against the subsidence that's still present in the tropical Atlantic. However, expect an overall increase in ITCZ activity across the Atlantic and Africa over the next week or so in response to an approaching negative MJO.

Africa is being affected by broad low pressures. This is mainly why we're seeing these tropical waves that are slightly stronger then average.
Will this have an affect on this season? Yes if the lower surface pressures remain.
This is yet another indication of a busy Cape Verde Season in the making.

I don't know whether to celebrate or cringe in fear. I want the action, but not the destruction that could come with a busy Cape Verde season.

These waves stand little chance east of the islands till late July at the earliest. But, they could pose for some interesting developments within the next couple of weeks once they get into the Carib. We could see something getting it's act together near Jamaica come around the 10th of July!
