Nice looking sat signature of the African coast....Lets see if GFS is on too something this time.

Weak surface low (weak by tropical wave standards) actually hasn't left the coast; the winds at Dakar are out of the NNW....it's still in Africa.
Ad all the convection is all to the west of it; what people are oohing and aahing about is either wind surge and not the wave, or the result of the mid and upper levels of the system being blown well to the west by strong easterly shear.
