TWC Goofed!!!

#1 Postby Rieyeuxs » Sat Jul 17, 2004 9:17 pm

Was scanning through the TV channels seeing what was coming on and happened to notice the Tropical update was getting ready to come on TWC. Imagine my shock when the intro music and graphics was for Tropical Storm Alex!

Having read through this board earlier today, there wasn't even a TD on the horizon and all the sudden we had our first TS???

So I eagerly sat there, mentally guess what feature could have exploded out of nowhere, watching all the satellite loops and seeing nothing. All they could say was the Atlantic was quiet and formation potential was moving eastward across towards CV. Either someone needs to check their graphics or they're bored too and trying to punch up the ratings...

*sigh* It's not nice to toy with our emotions like that... :grr:

They are always making fool of themselves, especially in the tropical updates, except for Steve Lions. Yesterday I was also watching the Tropical Update and they were showing a Eastern Caribbean Sea picture but mentioned it was a Western Caribbean Sea. Also, when we talk about typhoons, they are always behind. Something more, the show "Storm Stories" is interesting but to one point, you like to see the stories one time but not every weak. Every month they repeat the same thing, that stinks!

Something more, can you describe, Rieyeuxs, where they were placing the storm and all the details?

Plus, their radar is a good 10 minutes or more behind. They should have live radar for being The Weather Channel, all our local stations here in Pensacola have live radar.

Jim Cantore is one of most enjoyabe The Weather Channel has for weather enthusiasts, including mine.

I really never have a chance to watch him, because Fox News Channel is on while my mother and I play Scrabble and/or Yahtzee just about every night, TV in the guestroom and my room aren't where we play... so.....

Yes the graphics were the same. And no, they didn't have a Tropical Storm to talk about. I'll watch again at the next update, but they're flashing the song and graphics for TS Alex as they announce the Tropical Update and then say nothing has happened...

Isn't that considered false advertising? If it were a retail market, they'd have to come through and produce Alex. I wonder if I can have them make good on that...

ROFL!!!

That sounds like something TWC would do.

Ever since they quit using the NWS forecasts as the local forecasts, I have quit watching. Their new forecasts suck and are unreliable. :grr:

I ONLY watch TWC if it's in the middle of the night and there's a storm and I don't want to get up and pull up the radar on the computer. I rarely watch it for anything else.
