Way to go Derecho :roll: That's the way to get the conversation going during the slow part. Frankly I would love a strong trough to stay around 65 w with everything curving away. The main problem with the troughs is where they form. Without a doubt the troughs are the main reason that Fla has been spared for so long. But what has been good for Fla and MOST of the east coast has been bad for NC over the past decade. A lot of the troughs that the storms have been caught in direct them to our coast. I hope that we do get the coast saving permanent trough far enough off our coast to protect all (with maybe a tropical storm for Fla to end drought). After Isabel my attitude has changed, personally I wouldn't mind not having to deal with another hurricane for the rest of my life. I think that I might have to move for that to happen though.
