I'm gonna stick my neck out here and predict that it will eventually become Alex.

Might be catching it's second wind after the mid level circ. got blown off last night. New blow up t-storms but still no llc. and it's almost to close to S.A. to wrap up, I'll certainly keep watching and hoping. Happy hunting

Question for Mr C

#5 Postby hial2 » Tue Jul 20, 2004 5:59 am

I'm curious to find out how you know that there is no LLC with the wave..The latest NHC says that a mid level circulation exists...wouldnt the T storm explosion within the wave indicate a LLC?
I wonder how you can tell the difference? Thanks

Looks like it survived the islands.......As Dr. Steve Lyons pointed out yesterday in quite a few of his Tropical Update's...... This storm definately has a chances now that it's past the islands.....

I think there's plenty of expertise here without relying on the "authority" of Dr Lyons. I dont even watch TWC anymore. I would much rather tune in here and collect information than listen to any of the divas on TWC.

wow...

Wow, I woke up this morning and found that the wave still exists in some meaningful form instead of disintegrating.....that's a first for this season.

To my untrained eye, I just don't see why this wave CAN'T develop. I may not see anything that would help development, but I don't see anything to squash it, either. Surely plenty of other waves in the past have developed while moving forward at a good clip? I'm positive that I remember quite a few.

The wave is currently moving into a less favorable environment of dryer air and somewhat unfavorable upper winds in the Eastern and central Caribbean. This is not to say it will not develop, but that we will probably be waiting a few days to see much until it gets to more favorable conditions in the Western Caribbean.

Well..The convection has refired over the area of circulation on the southern part of the linear wave..this is where possible development looks more promising..The blob watch continues..even through the dead sea.. :)
