Question for ya:

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Question for ya:

The global models are not doing much with 97L. So why worry about it too much unless it really sustains its organization? And if that were the case, then you would think the global models would "sniff" it out. Right now, they are not- or just barely.

Thoughts...........?

That's like saying "why even bother to watch it until it's a TD at least?"

It shows potential, and is becoming more organized daily... thus, we monitor it.

And the tropical models already "sniff" it out.

Furthermore, I'm not exactly sure how one could study tropical development by ONLY studying those systems that actually develop. Why not also study those that don't so that we can have some sort of understanding and perception about what WILL develop (without always using models)?

Besides, isn't it still "tropical weather" even when it's a wave?
