Or so it seems to me...

A bit too low latitude for significant development but still interesting.

Yes too low but it has persisted since it came off africa. The wave is of high amplitud so we will see what happens down the road.

TROPICAL WAVE JUST W OF THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS ALONG 27W/28W S
OF 22N MOVING W 10-15 KT. THIS IS A HIGH-AMPLITUDE WAVE
CONSISTING OF A LARGE CIRCULATION IN THE LOW/MID CLOUDS WITH A
LOCAL ENHANCEMENT IN SHOWERS. THE WAVE SHOULD MOVE A BIT FASTER
OVER THE NEXT DAY OR SO AS IT EXITS THE MONSOON ENVIRONMENT OFF
W AFRICA. WAVE PASSAGE INTO THE CARIBBEAN ISLANDS IS UNCLEAR
BUT COULD BE AROUND THE THU/FRI TIMEFRAME.

Dry air is a problem, but we'll see.

Convection is still associated with the ITCZ and not really with the wave's circulation. :(

Good observation Abajan. By Monday the IR Floater should be focused on the wave, so we'll be able to watch it up close and personal. A long way to go, but it could be a contender.
