Nogaps, AVN, UKMET, CMC and GFS are showing a low pressure coming off the coast of Africa  but all models loose it later in the period although these are global models and dont usually hold on to tropical systems as well as .... http://met.psu.edu/tropical/tcgengifs/

Hopefully it'll hold on. The Atlantic just can't do ANYTHING this year :(

You can't have above average seasons forever.

FWIW, the latest GFS model holds on to the low after emerging off Africa in 4 days and places it near western Cuba by day 16

Hopefully WE can hold on. :D Actually, weather in the Atlantic basin is, generally speaking, behaving quite normally. Pretty much in line with climatology. Just seems that we've kind of become accustomed the last couple of seasons to having June and July systems to watch. Fret not...give it another couple of weeks and the ATL will provide more than enough in the way of storms. In the meantime, stock up on strong coffee , get all your needed links updated, and of course, if you live in a coastal region, make those seasonal real-life preps if you haven't done so already, and get ready for some long late August and September nights ahead.

We now know for sure that that low will not be near Cuba by day 16

Yeah, can suck sometimes. I don't like seeing houses and boats being destroyed but if it happens, God forbid, I wanna be there to see it. The above average seasons have their pros and cons... but even though I live in NC, I don't mind taking a good beating every once in a while. To be honest... I wouldn't mind seeing another Fran. But I don't wanna see another Floyd. Anywho, enough rambling. I'll keep watching the blobs.
