I dunno guys, if this is the prediction for our Alex-to-be, it's pretty lame for a TD/TS. For what is supposed to be Charleston's shot at the tropics this season, I wouldn't get my hopes up for anybody further up the coast. It isn't even raining here and extremely light wind. I may go down to the beach a little later to check out the surf.

Can I return this storm to the NHC and request another please? For a Tropical system, I've had better action with straight line Thunderstorms...

Most of the convection is south of the center and it's not expected to make landfall until it's east of you anyway.

not to mention, franklin said in the discussion that there is little wind right now to the north and west of the circulation.. if this is the new center, it is re-organizing... it will take some time.... i know this is not by no means a big storm, but, this reminds me of bertha in 96... she came into the region, weakened and the convection was blown off to the south.. the as she got a little closer to the coast, it pulled back under the convection and restrengthened... we could see the same sort of thing here...

Sure hope not. Bertha lead to Fran. Somebody yesterday made the comment about the possibility that TD#1 could be just opening the gate for future storms. Patterns...I guess

well if you believe the GFS computer model, it brings a tropical system, "hurricane" towards the carolina coast... in a week or so... that would be the wave in the central atalntic... could be interesting down the road..

Don't worry you will get it soon enough.

Right now the majority of the convection is displaced south of the center, with just a few squalls coming onsore of the NC/SC coast. you can see this very well on the VIS loop

Overlay the radar w/ it and you will see what im talking about. Underneath that convection is where the strongest winds and heaviest rainfall are located. Remember, it's NOT excatly the most organized system.

Actually, Three Blind Mice brings up a good point ... In many seasons, there seems to be corridors that TC's travel with an intersecting point where several storms cross during a calendar year ... and sometimes with the early seasons developments (or the first couple of storms) may be a precursor for something larger down the road ... and that's what concerns me the most.

yes it does make sense.. you look back at past storms.. bertha, fran .. dennis, floyd... just to name a few.. the bermuda high is in place and fairly strong like those two seasons.. it looks to be back on stride with a typical type hurricane season... does not mean the east coast will be hit by two, or one for that matter... but just seems to be a hurricane season typical of a normal season..... or something like that.. lol
