hummmmmmmm....that does look rather different doesn't it. I am a weather weenie, so I will not comment on why, but I will say I don't think I have ever seen anything like this in all my weather watching years.
Looks like a computer program hiccup to me, but I could be wrong...
That is classic..Someones analysis/forecast taken literally when it should just be the usual 2/3 lows with the old dashed line trough connecting them..That's a TV type of graphic that was not simplified for the public..imho..Sometimes the anylysis is actually for aviation and had more detail and they usually modify it a tad to make it more understandable for the TV audience..
