Just wanted to check in with you guys after I went postal bonkers earlier lol..

All my preps have been completed and I even spent the last 2 1/2 hours helping a neighbor fill up a 55 gallon jug.. That's a lot of water! lol

I'm now letting you guys know 2 things. 1. I am anxiously awaiting Charley to see if his eye will make it over this way.

2. I am also letting you guys know I may not post too much tomorrow till after Charley leaves..

What do you guys think I'll have for winds here..? I know I've said it all day.. but I'll be on the storms worst side..

Local mets are undecided. Some say hurricane force winds sustained.. others say gusts.. But with me on the worst side.. I think 75-80 mph winds may be the rule and not the acception..

Opinions wanted and appreciated

I think you're UNDERestimating. I'm guessing 95 with stronger gusts.

You will know more about winds in the early morning. We'll have to see how strong this storm is when it is approaching the keys. Lets hope that no one really goes much above 100 to 110mph, because that seems to be the threshold speed when you see alot of roofs coming off and cars turning over and really severe damage. Most structures can handle 100mph winds with only some damage. Once you get over 110mph you start to see structural failure with many buildings.

True.. I keep forgetting that I won't know the winds till it begins to make it's closest approach..

I'm thinking hurricane force winds and 90 mph.. but it could be higher..
