True but it sucking in dry air. Look at the radar out of the Keys. Wont that keep it in check?

If the IR shows dark red all the way around the vortex dont we have a cat 4?

I have seen "cat4s" look this way. Which is small with small eyes with deep convection on all Quads. We will have to see if they find winds that support something stronger.

Not a lot of dry air around the system according to the water vapor imagery.

Pressure has been falling all night, and should continue to. Charley is beginning to look like a classic major hurricane.


I don't want to speculate on what it could become, but it is continuing to grow for sure...

Chaser your right. Look at the Key West radar you will see the dry air. Unfornately it does not seem to have a effect on the intensification. Looks like we got a major.
