Carolina Updates....

#1 Postby Three Blind Mice » Fri Aug 13, 2004 2:50 pm

Folks I am amazed! Radio just said expect 15-30mph winds Saturday! People here are clueless on this direction change. DT, MW, SF, and the other Cane guru's we need your help. What are you seeing for the Cape Fear area of NC. Saturday morning will be a panic here if Charley is tracking here as a hurricane. Pictures of Florida will be on the news channels and people will be panicking because they had no warning.

There are already voluntary evacuations happening on Ocracoke. The local weather statement is showing a possible Donna track repeat with lots of tide water damage in Dare County.

Wilmington news stated a few minutes ago that it could be a cat 1 when it comes back in to shore . the track is showing it exiting near jacksonville and coming back in near the SC/NC border. Cat 1 is still too much can lose our lights with all this rain lately and now possible wind at 50 to 60 some trees are coming down. Ii am glad I have my things ready for power outage. i feel for the people down in FL

It is a bit scary not knowing where it will hit in SC/NC. The local news says we could have a storm here in Charleston or a Hurricane, all depending on its track and it is too early to call.

Horry and Georgetown Counties in South Carolina, along the coastline, mandatory evacuations were ordered by the SC Governor earlier today ...

Expecting 40-60 mph winds in the Charleston area tomorrow as Charley approaches, and will possibly still be a CAT 1 hurricane as it approaches from the SSW ...

Just heard on one of the stations it looks like possible re-intensification over the Atlantic. Less shear than previously anticipated.

Mike and Mike and Dave, what are you thinking here, please??
