Have been trying to reach my daughter and some other friends in Orlando, good but a bit scary to read your report and now to try her phone again.

I assume the theme parks near by were shut down. Any freeways closed during the height of the storm?

Wait until tomorrow to make your assessment. You can't ascertain the amount of damage at night. I know, I live in a community that is known for getting some of the highest winds in the country, and if you got 108 gusts, the damage will be quite significant, though nowhere near dramatic.

Got a cal from my sister in Orlando. She said someone's shed landed in her front yard and alot of damage. I really feel bad for everyone who had to deal with Charley.

With 105 MPH winds; I can only imagine the kind of destruction in FL tonight. Hoping for the best, and will pass on word of my family's well being as soon as I receive it.

All the parks in the Kissimmee area were shut down today at 2 eastern.

What type of winds can those rides sustain?

Just thinking of the millions of dollars invested in those theme park rides..... not quite sure what they are built to handle

I have no idea where to look for that answer either. I asked someone in the chatroom and he thought he read somewhere that they can hold up under 50MPH winds. If that is true, Disney is toast!
