Family OK

#1 Postby ncbird » Sat Aug 14, 2004 4:10 pm

My Family in Punta Gorda are ok. They lost their home and were trapped until rescuers were able to get them out but no one is hurt besides a few minor cuts and bruises...thank God.

The information came from a kind local reporter who spoke to them when they were pulled out and they asked if he could try and get word to me. When being unable to reach me by phone (I live in trailer and moved to a safer location due to Charlie making his path this way) he sent me an email.

Thanks to all who kept them in your prayers... they were answered.

Wonderful news! I hate that they lost their home but at least they were spared! Houses can be rebuilt, lives can't.

my sister lived in pt charlotte

#9 Postby paulvogel » Sat Aug 14, 2004 4:32 pm

and after her home was destroyed{marion ave 4 blocks from rte41} she drove everybody over to a friendas house, a few miles north. Up in venice it was af if nothing happened.

My sister is real shell shocked. It was an experience any sane folk would never want to happen.

When they finally tell us what the death count is, the wonder of it all will be how tiny a toll it was

So very glad your family is well nc; losing a home is devastating, but can be rebuilt.
Hoping we all hear from friends and family throughout Fla soon.

I'm sorry to hear about their house but I'm so glad to hear they're ok. That's the most important thing.
