Frances has developed that "perfect ring"

#1 Postby Sean in New Orleans » Sat Aug 28, 2004 2:30 pm

This storm has really come together in the last few frames. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if Frances is a category 4 right now. All we can do is watch--the storm is soo far away, but, it's one mean looking system this afternoon. http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/DATA/RT ... -loop.html

Its definitly a cat 4. It has the look of a potential cat 5. I wouldn't be surprised to see a cat 5 by tonight or tomorrow.

I agree - Cat 5 for sure by the end of the weekend. Favourable conditions - what else do you need?

I was thinking it was a category 4, for sure....and I fully expect it to become a category 5...maybe it will "exhaust" itself over the next week or so before it hits land.....of course, that's just wishful thinking!
