Hermine to Rhode Island or Massachusetts?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Hermine to Rhode Island or Massachusetts?

#1 Postby Steve » Sun Aug 29, 2004 7:06 pm

I've kind of ignored Hermine up to this point other than that she was getting a little better organized over the last couple of days (* obviously Gaston and Frances were the main stories). I went and read the Bastardi night update and he feels like it will come up north faster than the NHC has it and is advising people in coastal New England they should prepare for tropical storm conditions tomorrow night (including a couple of hours of squalls and some gale winds).

I'm not sold as I didn't see this as a landfalling system. I suppose it could come up to the right of Gaston and ahead of the front. It's going to be interesting to see what happens if it does landfall (giving us 5, and likely 6, out of 8 storms having made a US landfall).
