I love to take shots at the big stores too, but in my case, Home Depot really came through. They diverted material from up north to our area, and the prices didn't go up a bit. I know that from having been in the store making purchases both before and after the storm. Don't know about all of them, but ours didn't take advantage of the situation in the least.

Sigh, and let the chaos begin again. We are really in no shape to have another storm hit. Guess I can hope and pray for a fish!

LOL! Too funny... I'm FAR away from S. FL at the moment, but if I were at my home in Boca, you know where I would want to go to check out the "sights" and eavesdrop on all the kibbitzing? The Boys on Military Trail in Delray Beach. Boy I would just LOVE to hear the cash register conversation there! It's a great store, but crazy even at normal times!

How do you know? I was in there today and everything seemed calm and not really busy.

In their Hurricane guidebook they say that they don't gouge prices when a storm is coming or as someone says, alert mode or something like that.

I know how Home Depot was here when Charley hit. They didn't raise prices and they diverted stock from northern stores to here. They are in business to make money I don't begrudge them that. The fact is they got in what the people needed when they needed it. I'll shop Home Depot anytime for anything they are okay in my book!
