T 1.5 from SSD for 97L....

30/1200 UTC 15.4N 19.9W T1.5/1.5 97 -- Atlantic Ocean


Fairly far N...and may develop so quickly it's a recurve risk...as it turns out the strong GFS storm behind Frances is NOT 97L, but something behind 97L over Africa currently.

On the NRL site it looked like 97L already had a fair northward component to its motion although it may have been an illusion. The NRL isn't known for its smooth sat loops. There was even an image of Gaston thrown in there. :roll:

Sometimes the Europeans really p--s me off...

I think there is a good chance 9L could form out of this later today, and maybe even Ivan. Of course, this would likely be a fish storm, and that would end the dreaded "I" storm myth.

Looking at eurosat it appears that it has formed nice outflow with a nice cdo like future?

Yes, it looks quite impressive on satellite. Look for a classified system at 5:00.
