This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Rapid Deepening, or reorganization?

#1 Postby Dmetal81 » Tue Aug 31, 2004 2:25 am

Its early (or late) but every subsequent from satellite has Francis looking more and more spectacular. Convection is deep and smooth around all quadrants and is now quite evenly distributed. The "new" eye is huge (not sure on size, heard 40nm earlier) Is it getting stronger, and quick, or is this new large eye merely a change in appearance?
