Granted, this path could change.

But as you can see, the NHC does not expect Frances to pass directly over Ft. Meyers.


Remember to not focus on the line. Focus on the cone. This is a mistake Ft. Myers made already from Charley and am sure they've since learned from.

Why don't they just drop the line altogether and just show the cone? Hardcore mets (and lurkers) could still find the line if they wanted but for public graphics I think the NHC should drop it. People can't seem to not focus on it and it alone when it's present.

To be fair, it moved .2N, .4W (TRUE WNW @ 292.5) between the 5am and 8am advisories. It had previously been carrying a 1/3 slope (now 1/2). Whether that is a temporary movement or whatever remains to be seen based on what they put out as an advisory position at 11 or when the next recon finds the center.
