Inner eyewall collapsing....

#1 Postby ericinmia » Wed Sep 01, 2004 8:00 am

It appears on infared now that the inner eyewall is collapsing:
We may soon not have concentric eyewalls...
They are causing it to wobble a lot....

Well, Frances had two eyewalls for a while now... this causes her to wobble, and restricts her ability to intensify. With the removal of one, we will have a much better ability to track her via sat. because the eye won't wobble and bobble as much. As it approaches warmer waters it also allows for faster intensification.

That cant be good either. Doesnt that sometimes precede strengthening?

Looks like there is elongation along the NNW to SSE axis. Could this along with the eye replacement mean a slow down or a possible direction change (or both)?
