Black is forming on the western side!

#1 Postby Matthew5 » Thu Sep 02, 2004 4:04 am

Rarely have I seen black on the Ir images with a hurricane. The reds are wraping around the eye while at the same time the eye is getting smaller. This thing is moving into waters with much more laten heat then back at 65 to 70 west. That area had a small area of water that could hardly support a strong cat3. But as it moves closer to 75 west the water there can easily support a cat5. My thinking is that the eye should get to about 18 to 20 miles in size with in the next 12 to 18 hours. With the reds wraping around the eye over the next 3 to 6 hours. The black color is more likely going to grow. I think 135 knots at the 11am Advisory. My forecast landfall 25 miles north or south of Palm Beach Florida....

If we want to talk about a forecast of timing the eyewall replacement cycle, the major ones have happened ~ every 48 hours. 48 hours ago, a major replacement took place, and she rapidly strengthened as the eye cleared out. The same thing appears to be happening now. 48 hours from now is a scary time...as she will be getting close to the western Bahamas.
