TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS TPC/NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL
1130 AM EDT THU SEP 2 2004

FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER IS ISSUING ADVISORIES ON HURRICANE
FRANCES...CENTERED ABOUT 450 MILES EAST-SOUTHEAST OF THE LOWER
FLORIDA EAST COAST.

DISTURBED WEATHER IS ASSOCIATED WITH AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE ABOUT
1050 MILES WEST-NORTHWEST OF THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS. ALTHOUGH
UPPER-LEVEL WINDS ARE ONLY MARGINALLY FAVORABLE...THIS SYSTEM COULD
BECOME A TROPICAL DEPRESSION OVER THE NEXT DAY OR SO AS IT MOVES
SLOWLY WESTWARD.

THE TROPICAL WAVE LOCATED A FEW HUNDRED MILES SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF THE
CAPE VERDE ISLANDS CONTINUES TO SHOW SIGNS OF ORGANIZATION...AND
THIS SYSTEM HAS THE POTENTIAL TO DEVELOP INTO A TROPICAL DEPRESSION
OVER THE NEXT DAY OR SO AS IT MOVES WESTWARD AT 10 TO 15 MPH.

ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL STORM FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED THROUGH
FRIDAY.
