If and when it turns west, will it be due west or wnw? I'm just curious.

The NHC doesn't turn it due west, it's more WNW AND SLOW right at landfall. 2pm Saturday position is a little west of Melbourne and then 2pm Sunday is just offshore Cedar Key and down to 50 mph.

Dennis Phillips

Dennis was busted in a SuperBowl bookie ring years ago. He likes long odds. He did not even mention the very visible strong ridge above Frances. I think he did a disservice by not mentioning it. He appeared to almost poo poo " consensus " opinion by other meteorologists. I think that on sites like this that is fine. But when your newscast reaches 2.5 million people and they rely on your forecast, don't gamble on it.

Just my opinion.

But apart from this, I like Dennis forecasts. And I hope is correct in playing a northern turn.

I'm not saying he's wrong, maybe he is right, but until the NHC guys show it, I really wouldn't buy into it.
