Question about heading west
Hi everyone, I just wanted to know if Frances did turn west right now, could it possibly miss Florida and head into the area between Fl and Cuba. Hope this isn't a dumb question.

It's not a dumb question. The answer to it is possible but not likely. The storm has never actually moved due west, there has always been at least some poleward movement. It's unlikely, but with the way this thing has gone I wouldn't rule anything out at this point.
I'm sticking with my WPB landfall. I'm not waivering one way or the other.

The eye has been wobbling for days, as we have we have watched it make it trek slowly towards the east coast. This is normal, and we have witnessed it repeatedly. This stair step effect is normal. This is why you hear the term trend so much. Due to this wobbling back and forth, you must watch the system over an extended period of time to determine if a directional change has actually occurred(a trend). By the way, your question is not dumb in the least.
Note: These slight deviations are expected.
