Do most maps show eye landfalls vs. leading-edge landfalls?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Do most maps show eye landfalls vs. leading-edge landfalls?

#1 Postby anjou » Fri Sep 03, 2004 1:07 am

Trying to be good as to getting informed about hurricanes and risks, etc. Have a big basic question. The hardest thing for me to intuit from most maps I see is:

When you're looking at a position or landfall, which maps show the actual leading edge of the storm vs. the eye position? (AKA as 'this model suggests hurricane force winds will commence at this place and time'.)

Any helpful guidelines on this stuff, or which maps are most helpful (YET CURRENT) in this regard?

Many thanks.
