Local met made the analogy this morning that a slow moving hurricane that starts to weaken, is like a top. When a top starts out, it spins quickly and goes in pretty much a straight line. As the top weakens, it wobbles and goes left, right, left, right. He said it is much more difficult to forecast a weaker hurricane.

First of all 120 is not weak, but as I have stated on here in other threads, she is similar to Isabel. Cat 5 that the core collapsed on appraoch to NC. She came in with a large wind field and around 105-110mph winds. The major difference here so far is Isabel did not stall or really slow down a whole lot. Frances may be a headache for a while.
