I've Seen Tropical Storms Look Better Than This

For a cat 3 this is one of the ugliest hurricanes I 've ever seen.

maybe it will have a better siganture as it gets closer but as of right now it looks pathetic

Bonnie in 1998 wasn't a particular pretty storm either.

Things may be looking up - what would have to happen for Frances to strengthen? Is it a longshot, or is it still too uncertain?

i'm by no means a pro...and have been silently watching this board for the past few days...but couldn't that blob really re-organize over the stream when it gets past the islands?

The wind shear would have to move out (which I think it will do) and the dry air entrainment would have to stop as well. I think some regeneration may happen.

Doesn't look bad at all. Not like every cane has to look like a cat5 to be extremely devastating anyway...
