#1 Postby FritzPaul » Fri Sep 03, 2004 9:04 pm

Local TV station just showed a clip from FL. In the piece they interviewed a guy who claimed he witnessed a fight over a jar of peanut butter.

A friend from work's wife was in the "W" store on Tuesday PM. She had 2 loaves of bread in her cart. Turned around to see someone taking a loaf out of he cart! She was so mad she left and went to another store.

I went to work today for 9 hours.
I come home and find the post about Frances coming to SC on PAGE 4!
What the HELL did everyone talk about for 3 pages??

The Moderators have asked to not post frivolous topics to conserve bandwidth.
The Moderators have asked that we not repeat the same topic over and over.

Let me bring everyone up to speed.

Frances is moving WNW at 4 mph.
Ivan is moving WSW at 16 to 18 mph.

How many ways can people regurgitate the same info over and over???

Kinda makes ya wonder what the world would be like if a true, world-wide situation was underway - like a meteor or a man-made catastrophe. I mean, think about the incident after Charley when the guy was zapped just for trying to get back on Sanibel Island. Mass civil unrest is something the modern world would be completely unprepared for....

In times like these, people like to discuss things like these on a discussion board like this - it's human nature. I'll bet if you visit this board on December 18, you will see NO ONE discussing anything....

Very funny stories...

#12 Postby FloridaHawk82 » Fri Sep 03, 2004 9:26 pm

but these things happen ALL THE TIME in Palm Beach county (6th borough of New York) ... we don't need a hurricane for rude and maniacal behavior!

I was at a Target store in Boynton Beach last year... had 10 items in my cart... I turned around and my cart was gone. I found a lady with my cart 4 aisles over and confronted her... she stood there for 5 minutes and claimed it was HER CART with the exact same 10 items... I started to explain mathematical probablities to her, but her eyes glazed over in confusion.

I won't even get into the post office horror sstories.

Yes, there are weird, stupid, and rude people everywhere. I have lived in California, Florida, Virginia, Illinois, and of course Iowa... a-holes are in all places

The difference is you might go months in Iowa before someone is outwardly rude to you for no apparent reason. In our little corner of Florida, it is almost a daily occurance... We have many great friends in Palm Beach County... and there are LOTS of very nice people... you just have to look a little harder to find them!

Interesting posts here. Having moved from Chicago 2 years ago, I'm always amazed by how nice and friendly people are here compared to Chicago. My husband lived in NY for 6 years and he though Chicago people were friendly. So I guess that makes Palm Beach Gardens incredible. I don't see many rude people here at all. Sorry to disagree.
