Bear hug for Big Bend? .......

#1 Postby dixiebreeze » Sat Sep 04, 2004 10:21 pm

I'm worried now that Frances will follow the NHC track that takes it into the E. GOM and has it slowly parelleling N. along Florida's Big Bend. That would be an Elena-like scenario and cause untold damage to the coastal areas.

Na NHC says this is going to be a strong tropical storm at best. Might be some gusty winds along the coast but nothing major. Biggest threat will be rainfall. It all depends when francis and the trough hit. Just my humble IMO>

The track reminds me a lot of Erin. If it goes a little west and doesn't come inland til Pensacola it will be. In fact, the landfall point for Frances is going to be nearly the same as Erin(Vero Beach area).
