FL update, storm surge due to come in...and other reports

#1 Postby Terry » Sat Sep 04, 2004 11:13 pm

in over next few hours in Vero/Melbourne area. (don't ask me how much, but high tide is around 4:40 a.m. there)

90 mph wind south end of Melbourne - live on TV

Lake Wales (East area of Polk clobbered by Charlie) winds picking up and some damage)

Huge strong feeder band of strong storms in Oviedo, UCF, Downtown Orlando and moving rapdily (SW, I think)

St. Lucie and Martin --- winds edging off due to eye

Frances presently moving 4-5 mph

Personal observation -- south Lakeland breezy, but a neighbor's cat just came in so now that makes eleven cats inside. ( and two ghekos I just noticed seeking refuge indoors)

Terry--
We have extended family in Lake Wales. If you get any more info about that area, please post.
Thanks!

Terry you're right about that line thru Orlando. On radar it looks nasty. I got a feeling we'll see a couple of tornados from that squall line.

Amazing thing is Melbourne is basically 40 miles north of the eye and getting 90mph winds. Amazing wind field with this storm. But not good for cent FL. :(
