Looking at that,Ivan might be more of a problem to the GOM than FL.

What is the UKMET doing east of Ivan? Is that a forecast for another Tropical Wave?

UKMET on target............

It has already picked up on a more easterly track for IVAN which one can clearly see this afternoon. NOT good news for southern FL or PR for that matter. Let's see what they do at 5. I'm thinking they will shift it left.

Ivan's satellite presentation is awesome. Remember back in July when people on this board were griping about the slow season? Be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it.

Steve Lyons just said Ivan set a record for the lowest latitude hurricane on record (ever).

Friday night, the GFDL had Ivan as a 925 mb cane in the eastern Caribbean. I didn't believe it. Now I do.

From those model tracks, Ivan will be making it through the Leewards at a pretty good pace. I hope we don't have any stalls with this one like we did Frances. The Bahamas got pounded.
