I'm trying to follow the forum and learn what I can since I've come thru Charley, watched Frances, and anticipating Ivan. What do you mean when you refer to a hurricane as a "fish"? Thank you. :?: :)

A storm that harms no one but the fish. Some folks feel that any storm that misses the US mainland is a fish, though I'm sure the folks in the Carribean islands beg to differ.

People keep saying that Ivan is going to be a fish.. but once it gets into the GOM, it has to hit some sort of landmass being Mexico, Yucatan, or the USA.

If Ivan gets in the Gulf---It's certainly not going to be a fish storm. I'm becoming increasingly concerned about Ivan's path and strength---there is nothing we can do but watch. It would be a nightmare if a powerful storm came to New Orleans--that's all I can say. We know we are overdue here, but, it will truly be a nightmare for this area when the next direct hit occurs.

Weve been saying FLA was way overdue up until this year. Now theyve seen 2 storms in 3 weeks. Lets not say overdue!

Correction. Once he gets into the CARIBBEAN he has to hit some sort of landmass.
