Where is all of this NC Rain from?

Its coming in from the coast. Is there a low out there, or is Frances responsible for all of this, and she is so far away?

I agree, I think it's rain from frances....looks like it on radar...

It's from Calidoug, who told me last night that Frances wasn't going to do anything to the Carolinas...

NWS forecast for here in Raleigh:

Tonight:

Showers likely overnight. A chance of thunderstorms with locally heavy rain possible early this evening. Lows around 70. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.

Tuesday:

Showers likely and a chance of thunderstorms. Locally heavy rain possible. Highs in the upper 70s. East winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.

Tuesday Night and Wednesday:

Periods of showers and scattered thunderstorms. Locally heavy rain possible. Lows around 70. Highs in the upper 70s. East winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of rain 90 percent.

Wednesday Night:

Mostly cloudy. Showers likely and a chance of thunderstorms...decreasing after midnight. Lows around 70. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.

the SE flow from Frances along with a little sea breeze aiding in development of squalls heading Northwest. The Southern Appalachians in western north carolina looks to get nailed from the remains of Frances, widespread 4-8 inch totals with some over 10 inches in favored upslope areas.
