A few minutes ago I told God I really couldn't take much more this. Then the rain slows to a little sprinkling for the first time in 30 hours with the pond at my doorstep.
Thanks! And please send Ivan somewhere else, anywhere! Send to to Iceland, Greenland, wherever, just not here or in south Florida, please!

I notice that most who can't get enough do not live in FL!!!!!
Let's start a poll for Floridians only and ask the same question. My guess is that you'll get an entirely different answer from anyone over the age of 18.
We didn't get the brunt from either Charley or Frances but it still was no fun going without electricity for days, having no gas available, getting cabin fever and running on little to no sleep.
My heart goes out to those who were in the direct path of either storm. I believe many eyes were opened these last few weeks especially those who thought it could never happen to them. I beg everyone to be ready in case Ivan comes this way.
Although I'm probably preaching to the choir here, I know of too many people who had a jug of water and a flashlight and thought they were ready. I'm ashamed to admit that my son is sitting on Tampa Bay with no electricity, little food or gas. His only contact with the outside world is his cell phone which he can only use sparingly and a small battery operated radio I gave him for Christmas. He thought it was a gag gift. The gag is on him now as it is his lifeline! After 30 years in FL, I thought I had taught him better!
