Frances Flooding in NC,VA, WVA

#1 Postby chemist44 » Mon Sep 06, 2004 9:34 pm

I live at 3800 feet in the Great Craggy Mountains, we are starting to get totrrential rainfall, expected to last until Wed PM/Thur AM in NC mountains. Call for 6-8 inches with 10-12 inches in the southern upslope areas. This can cause significant danger to life with severe flash flooding and ultimately main river flooding. This will eventually extend all the way to PA....More people are going to die from these floods than in Fla., especially as it combines with the front approaching from the west. Remember Agnes and Opal......... Please take precautions if you live in a flood preone area.
