Ivan is a HUGE storm

Ivan like Frances is a huge storm and will affect
a large area if and when it makes landfall in the
U.S. mainland. As I stated in another post he is too far south
in my opinion to be threat to South Florida(Keys & Miami).
My "early" call is for him to be a threat to the areas from
LA. to the Florida (I'm sorry yes Florida again) Panhandle.
I know that's a large threat area but we are talking about a system
that is at least 5-6 days away from the US mainland.
Just my 2 cents.

Its certainly looking more and more like Ivan is a central to eastern GOM threat.

The outflow is expanding hugely to the north today...although still constrained in other areas. It looks to me like it's reaching out over 300 miles from the eye on the north side. Once it moves away from S. America it could become Floyd-sized!
