118 knots = apprx. 135mph

135 would be at flight level. If you use 80% as the conversion from flight level to ground level that comes out at 108. They seem to be leaning more toward 90% which would make it 121 MPH.

I agree, Marshall ... since there's deep and intense convection around the center and particularly in the NE quad of Ivan ... so 90% equates very well ...
